In a remarkable achievement that has set a new standard in architectural excellence, the prestigious Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) has officially recognised 6&8 Parramatta Square as the pinnacle of skyscraper design in its 2024 awards. This iconic structure secured the title for Best Tall Building in the 200 – 299 Meters category and proudly took home the Best Tall Building in Oceania, solidifying its status as a landmark achievement in urban architecture.
Nestled in the heart of Parramatta, 6&8 Parramatta Square emerged as a beacon of modernity and innovation upon its completion in 2022. Towering majestically, it has redefined the city's skyline, setting a new benchmark for commercial buildings not only in Parramatta but across Australia and Oceania. At 55 storeys and 243 metres high, the 6&8 Parramatta Square tower came up against competition from Canada, USA, England, China, Taipei and India. It ranks as the 42nd tallest structure in the Australia and Oceania region and is a testament to its grandeur and architectural brilliance.
The building’s stunning design and state-of-the-art features have made it a focal point of admiration and a model of excellence in tall structures. As the latest recipient of the CTBUH awards, 6&8 Parramatta Square stands as a symbol of architectural ingenuity and a source of inspiration for future projects worldwide.
Parramatta Square by Walker is the country’s most sustainable commercial towers precinct after taking first place in the coveted NABERS national environmental honours earlier this year, overtaking 414 other commercial assets in Australia.
6&8 Parramatta Square is also the largest building in Australia to be awarded the highest achievable 6 Star Green Office Design and As-Built (v.1) rating from the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA).
The precinct diverted over 90% of building waste during construction away from landfills by reusing and recycling materials throughout the project’s lifecycle.
Parramatta Square also transformed the city’s central civic space into a safe public domain, joining over 90 other global destinations to proudly fly the Purple Flag Accreditation, which recognises the excellence of vibrancy, diversity, and safety at night.
